Connecting to AEM/Enet shared folders (H:, G:, R:, V:, W:, etc)

• NOTE:
  ALL of our servers use AD (Active Directory: ad.umn.edu) Authentication to connect to Windows shares.
  This means you use your University Username and Password to connect.
  


• You can connect from any .umn.edu machine - or use "eduroam" wireless or UofM VPN to connect to the network;
  otherwise, you will not be able to access any of the AEM/Enet Shares.
  



• Self Managed and Personal Windows Machines - INSTRUCTIONS (Semi Automatic):

  • Download the appropriate connect script (you may have already done this if you set up printing):
    AEM-connect.bat
  • Modify it to mount what you want.
    (See: the Microsoft documentation commands you can use in .bat files. )

  • The shares are as follows:

    		\\sg.ad.enet.umn.edu\ghome           (G: - Office Group shares)

  • Shares on all the servers above are mounted with your AD username and password: "AD\{username}"

  • Apple Computers use "smb://server/share" to connect (instead of "\\server\share")
  • - note: you still use AD\{username}
