Academic Policies on Grades and Scholastic Dishonesty

These syllabi do not have term specific information. Your instructor will provide you with a syllabus for your particular course. Some courses have have term specific web pages (current students only).

All students must be aware of University Policies listed on the AEM Standard Syllabi Statement. In addition this page lists the information that your instructor must provide you on a term specific syllabus.

Grades:

Grading standards will be consistent with those found on the web at http://www.policy.umn.edu/Policies/Education/Education/GRADINGTRANSCRIPTS.html. The amount and quality of work required for a grade of S will be no less than that for a C-. A grade of I instead of N will only be assigned when, due to extraordinary circumstances, a student is not able to complete the work of the course on time. A written agreement between the instructor and the student as to the time and manner that the student will complete the course requirements during the student's next period of enrollment.

Scholastic Dishonesty:

Students are responsible for knowing and following the University policies on Academic Integrity.

The Office of Community Standards is responsible for Academic Integrity at the University and has useful resources for students that explain the conduct code and what is considered plagiarism. In addition they have information on the due process students have a right to and how to appeal an instructor's decision.
